Woot Stalker started as a side project to monitor new woots and report them to an IRC chatroom for members to be able to get live updates from woot without having to F5 all the time. While it was successful, the potential audience was not very big, so the decision was made to port it over to an online version.
The way it actually works is several probes monitor woot for any changes. If a change is detected in any product listings, woot plus sales, or social media statuses, that information gets processed through wootstalker and sent to you almost instantly. The best part about it is that it auto refreshes, so you don't have to F5 all day. The benefit that Woot Stalker has over other trackers is that it monitors woot plus sales, and social media (which has been known to have the occasional BOC).
Did you know that if you register, you can also set up alerts to be emailed instantly when an item contains a keyword? Just one of the cool features here. You may also want to check out the Mini View, which has some other customizable options. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that Woot Stalker will notify you via audio when new items are added. And of course, you have the option of auto popping the elusive BOC if you are in to that kind of thing.
